I’m an Associate Consultant at Bain & Company. I graduated from IIM Ahmedabad in 2020 and from the University of Cambridge in 2016. I’m passionate about stock market investing, venture capital investing and entrepreneurship (basically anything to do with long term wealth creation).
I especially enjoy stock market investing and find it intellectually stimulating. I have been dabbling in the stock market since 2014 but taking the Applied Value Investing course in my second year at IIMA was a real turning point for me. It gave me a much more structured way to think about investing and a lot of my investment approach has been influenced by the course.
At IIMA, I also had the fortune of learning from some wonderful peers. I was a part of the team that won the National CFA Institute Research Challenge and was the National Runner Up at the Venture Capital Investment Competition – both experiences that helped me learn tremendously. After IIMA I spent some time trying to further my investment education by reading a few books (even though I’m a terribly slow reader), researching stocks and industries. This blog is a way for me to share some of the ideas that I find interesting.
Why am I doing this?
It’s a way for me to
- Document my learnings – While reading books, blogs, annual reports, research reports etc I found myself taking fairly unstructured notes. This blog is a way for me to consolidate my learnings and document them in a more structured manner.
- Invite comments/feedback/criticism – I think one of the best ways to learn/improve is through constructive criticism. Feedback has often helped me think about perspectives that I previously haven’t considered so I would love anyone reading this to share any feedback.
- Potentially help people interested in learning more about these subjects – I am far from being an expert in this field and have just started my learning journey. Yet, I’ve found myself in a number of social settings discussing investments and unable to explain my thesis in a 2-minute chat. This blog is a way for me to avoid those conversations (I will just point people to this blog). But on a more serious note, I have found people to be quite curious about certain topics related to investing and I hope this blog can help them learn more about these subjects.
