What matters more, Identity or the message?

Reading Time: < 1 minute

When you learn something from a book or from an acquaintance, does it really matter if the author or the acquaintance turned out to be an alcoholic or a gambler?

For example, if you found out that a famous investor who you deeply worshiped has a faulty character, would you no longer use the lessons you have learnt from him about investing?

Why not strip the identity of the teacher from his teachings. Why shouldn’t you take what can work from you and leave everything else behind.

If you are finding it hard to do it, trash the cover of all the books you own. Never meet your idols.

Always remember, it’s about you. Not the teacher.
